WeightBuddy is an iPhone application designed to help people manage their weight in small groups.  Weight can be tracked on the iPhone either by direct entry or by using a Withings wifi Scale.  The weights can be entered in pounds, kilos or stone.

The real power of the WeightBuddy application is when you start creating groups and inviting others to join these groups.  The users in the shared groups can see each others progress and chat between themselves to support each other.

The appliction is free on the iPhone app store here.

Just updated to 3.1 which includes support for tracking your WeightWatchers ProPoints.

Weight tracker is available on Android currently and features:

  • Multiple user accounts on one phone
  • A web portal to access your data on the web
  • Tracking weights, meaks and activity in a list and calendar view
  • Charts with weekly to yearly scales of activity and weights
  • Goal and plan tracking including support for WeightWatcher point tracking
  • Weight units (Pounds, Stone or Kilograms) configured per user
  • Height Units (inches or centimeters) configured per user
  • Optional password protection for each user
  • BMI color indicators on the chart and weight entry screens
  • Variable time span charts on progress
  • Simple email generation of history (this is pretty basic today)
  • Backup and recovery to SD card
  • Twitter integration

Future enhancements will include:

  • Facebook integration
  • iPhone port

The main goal behind the applicaiton is to help people set a goal for weight management and track small steps towards that goal.

If there is a strong interest we may look to support a buddy system via the web site so you can share your progress with specific other users on their device.

Weightracker can be purchased from your android device on the google marketplace.  Access to the portal is free for users who have purchased the mobile application.

We are evaluating a port to the iPhone at this time.

The applications in motion Brainstorm application for the iPhone allows individuals and groups to develop Parallel thinking brainstorms using the iPhone (with an iPad specfic version to follow) as the center of building the brainstorm.

Brainstorms can be developed on the device and/or shared with others via the Applications in Motion portal.

Individuals that accept invitations to share in a brainstrom can view it on the portal (at no cost) or can accept the invitation into an iPhone running the application and contribute to the storm.

A short writeup on parallel thinking can be seen here and the iPhone help files can be seen here.

Applicatons in Motion embodies the idea that applications on the new generation of mobile devices are (or can be) dramatically different from applications in the clould (the Internet), Desktop PC or traditional mobile applications.

The Android and iPhone platforms are exceptional powerful devices that support a rich user interaction model and a high degree of both local and web connected computing power.  Most importantly, for the first time, these capabilities are always with you and always on.  The applications are in motion, just like you are.

Starting with WeightTracker on the Android platform we have brought out a very simple and easy to use application to track your weight over time.  We will be enhancing this appliction to be more connected.  First to the web (this site) and then to your firends via links to weight tracker on the phones of those you want to share with.

We are also, activly working on collaboration software to allow teams of people to work together to develop ideas and concepts.  We expect the first of these tools to come out in Q1 2010.

Applicaitons in Motion is a personal project of mine and a few people close to me.  I hope the applications help you, and I'd love to hear from you about what you think of them.
